More about Geoff
Eight24 is a workforce-tech company solving two structural crises at once. On one side, employers can't staff the trades: construction alone needs roughly 500,000 additional workers in 2026 to keep pace with demand, and McKinsey projects the country will need 130,000 additional electricians between 2023 and 2030 just to keep pace with AI data center infrastructure demand. On the other side, formerly incarcerated Americans face an unemployment rate exceeding 27%, (nearly double the general population) and average just $19,610 in annual income when they do find work. We connect those two problems. Our VR + AI platform delivers HVAC, electrical, welding, plumbing, and automotive training that leads to industry-recognized credentials (NATE, EPA, OSHA), sold B2G2C to workforce boards, school districts, corrections agencies, and community anchors already trying to serve these populations. We've been vendor-approved by PGCPS, granted NATE and EPA 608 Testing Organization status, and are actively pursuing federal funding through Workforce Pell and HHS Community Economic Development channels.
We sell cohort-based, VR-delivered, certification-anchored trades training as a service, priced per learner and sold to workforce boards, school districts, corrections agencies, and community-based organizations. The problem is a compounding economic drag: the U.S. faces nearly 1.4 million unfilled skilled trades jobs by 2030, risking $325.6 billion in annual GDP, while states will spend an estimated $8 billion on reincarceration costs alone for people who exited prison in 2022. This figure excludes law enforcement, court, victim services, and social costs. These crises share a solution. Formerly incarcerated individuals who maintain employment for one year post-release experience a recidivism rate of just 16%, compared to 52% for their unemployed peers. Every learner we train who lands a trades career is a solved employer vacancy and an avoided reincarceration event. We're the bridge between two markets that need each other and can't find each other.
