More about Mychal
Christ in the City is a Catholic nonprofit, in Philadelphia and Denver, that builds relationships with people living in homelessness. Full-time, young adult missionaries serve one or two years, live in community, and the walk city streets to become a friend to the poor. As trust grows our missionaries accompany friends to medical, housing, or prenatal appointments. We also serve over 350 meals per week at Lunch in the Park.
For people experiencing chronic homelessness, Christ in the City addresses the isolation of being unknown, unloved, and unwanted, which is foundational to their poverty. It does this through consistent friendship over time, which can lead to practical turning points like accompanying friends to seek medical care, find housing, or reconcile with loved ones.
